Free Property Cleanup

Free Home Cleanup Hotline Available Now for Households Impacted by Current Storms and Flooding in California

Call 844-965-1386 for free help from local relief agencies

From now until January 27, 2023, several relief agencies are staffing a free hotline for the public to request help cleaning up from the recent flooding. This hotline will connect survivors with reputable and vetted voluntary relief agencies that will assist in debris cleanup and mucking out, as they are able. All services are free, but service is not guaranteed due to the expected overwhelming need.

The partnership with Crisis Clean-Up helps connect survivors with local relief agencies working across the state. Crisis Clean-Up will help facilitate cleanup by various aid agencies standing by to assist those affected by the flooding.

The hotline will alert multiple relief agencies that survivors need help. All services are free and performed by vetted and reputable relief agencies and members of National VOAD. Response times will vary so we ask residents their patience while the teams receive and organize their response to help.

Important reminder: The hotline cannot assist with social services such as food, clothing, shelter, insurance, or questions about FEMA.

Survivors needing assistance with home cleanup may call: 844-965-1386.

County Residents Urged to Report Property Damage that Occurred as a Result of the Storms Beginning On or After
March 9, 2023

The County of Santa Clara is collecting damage information for submission to the appropriate state and federal agencies. Take the survey today!

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CALIF. – The Bay Area has been hit by a series of atmospheric rivers that have caused damages such as flooding, fallen trees, and mudslides across the region. To help community members recover from the storms that began March 9, 2023, the County of Santa Clara is collecting damage information from residents for submittal to the California Office of Emergency Services (CalOES) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

Community members may self-report property damages by going to www.PrepareSCC.org/Flood and completing the survey.

“The County continues to work toward recovering from the storms that have greatly impacted our county, particularly South County,” said Dana Reed, Director of the Office of Emergency Management. “We are working with our local and state partners to ensure that our community members are informed of the recovery resources and services that are available, including FEMA’s Individual Assistance Program. We encourage property owners and renters to submit damage surveys for the storms that began on March 9.”

FEMA’s Individual Assistance Program provides financial and direct services to eligible individuals and households affected by a disaster, who have uninsured or under-insured necessary expenses and serious needs. The Individual Assistance Program is not a substitute for insurance and cannot compensate for all losses. The collection of damage information is not a guarantee of financial assistance.
