The Volunteer Community Support Network facilitates coordination among groups supporting volunteer efforts during disasters. The network provides a communication hub to streamline information sharing and resource mobilization in support of effective deployment and utilization of volunteers throughout the disaster cycle.
CADRE will develop a Donations & Volunteer Committee to support disaster readiness and planning for volunteer management throughout Santa Clara County.

OVERVIEW OF CADRE’S SUPPORT NETWORKS:
The Volunteer Community Support Network is one of 20 networks CADRE is developing to facilitate communication for nongovernmental organizations in Santa Clara County throughout the disaster cycle. These networks are broken up by different community services and functions to allow for more focused communication. The networks are designed to give organizations a way to quickly find and share information, collaborate, and communicate, before, during, and after disaster. Fill out the short Network Sign Up Form to ensure that you are included in updates about the networks you are interested in joining.
NETWORK UPDATES:
The Volunteer Community Support Network is being developed. Any updates to the network will be noted here.
COMMUNICATION TOOLS:
1.) Web page – This web page and the forms, lists, and map within it will be updated regularly and used for continuous network coordination and information sharing during disasters.
2.) Live Chat – As the network develops, they will decide upon a live chat platform for communication during disaster. This live chat platform will provide major disaster announcements, urgent updates and requests, and welfare checks on organizations to quickly understand disaster impacts and immediate needs.
3.) Meetings – The network will decide upon a regular meeting schedule as it is developed. During disasters, meetings will be expanded at the network leadership’s discretion and by request.
4.) Back up methods of communication may include emails, phone and in person meetings, and utilization of Ham Radio and/or information centers in the case of technological challenges during an emergency. These backups are still being developed and decided upon.

Reach Out to Homebound – Sourcewise Ambassador Program
Human connection, fellowship, and friendship are good for the mind and soul. Volunteers bring a little joy and companionship to homebound seniors in our community.
Are you a natural nurturer who loves good conversation? The Sourcewise Ambassador Program is a perfect volunteer opportunity for you. Whether it’s a few minutes or an hour, a wellness call helps our elders feel connected during these uncertain times.
To become part of the Sourcewise Ambassador Program, you’ll be required to participate in a training session and make calls 1 or more hours per week. The commitment minimum is two months. Bilingual speakers are especially needed for Spanish, Vietnamese, Chinese and Russian homebound.
