According to a briefing provided by the National Weather Service (NWS) today (Monday, December 22nd), an atmospheric river of rain and extreme weather continues to hit Santa Clara County through this week.

  • Periods of heavy rain and strong wind through the week
  • Localized flooding expected
  • Debris flows possible
  • Strong winds arrive Tuesday, December 23rd
  • Power outages likely
  • Chance of thunderstorms, particularly in/near the Santa Cruz mountains on Wednesday.

First responders and duty officers are standing by from all levels of government, PG&E, Valley Water, Red Cross, and CADRE.  There will be an OEM coordination call daily and we will advise if things change.  In the meantime, see the CADRE Special Report newsletter in partnership with Valley Water in December to help you stay flood safe.
