DESCRIPTION:Collaborating in Disaster Response and Recovery! \nCalifornia VOAD partners\, \nWe invite you to an exciting one-day in-person conference and training hosted by Northern California VOAD. This event will focus on disaster response and recovery best practices and offer valuable opportunities for training\, discussion\, and networking. The event will be held in three different locations throughout Northern California during the first week of November. Please see event details and registration below. \nDate & Locations: \nNov 4\, Tzu Chi Foundation\, 2355 Oakland Rd\, San Jose\, CA 95131\, Session I Registration \nNov 6\, The Salvation Army\, Sacramento\, Session II Registration \nNov 8\, Northern Valley Catholic Social Services\, Redding\, Session III Registration \nEvent Details: \nTime: 10:00 am – 6:00 pm (Registration Opens 9:30 am) \nMeals: Coffee\, drinks\, snacks\, lunch and networking dinner provided \nAgenda: We have an exciting lineup of national\, state\, and local speakers with decades of experience in disaster preparedness\, response\, and recovery: \n\nSession I: What is VOAD and why you should be connected to your local VOAD\nKeynote Speaker: Aaron Titus\, Crisis Cleanup\, How to Prepare for Everything\nSession II: Disaster Response with speakers from Cal OES\, local emergency managers\, and American Red Cross\nSession III: Recovery with a panel of speakers discussing long term Recovery\, disaster case management\, spiritual and emotional care\, and the rebuilding process.\n\nWhy Attend: \n\nCollaboration: Build a strong disaster response network\nCoordination: Learn effective coordination with VOADs\, LTRGs\, nonprofits\, and emergency managers\nPlanning: Develop streamlined disaster response and recovery processes\nNetworking: Connect with neighboring counties and disaster responders\nTraining: Practical training for effective disaster management\n\nWho Should Attend: \n\nVoluntary and Community Organizations Active in Disasters (VOADs and COADs)\nLong-Term Recovery Groups (LTRGs)\nNonprofit Organizations\nEmergency Managers and Community Resilience Officers\n\nTicket Limitations: Please limit the number of attendees to 3 people per organization per region. \nThis is an in-person event\, sponsored by United Way of Northern California\, Cal OES\, and Listos.
